Brad Greenwood | GRRR
Exhibition opening reception with the artist
Thursday, September 19th, 6pm - 9pm
GRRR is the noise of the street, the buzz-saw of the news cycle, the constant low growl in the throat. What is it like to try to live peacefully, contentedly, lovingly while the animals roar? Can there be quiet in the midst of these troubling noises?
GRRR made me look inward, turning my art from star gazing to navel gazing. Continuing the search for answers through my practice of mining art history, popular culture, and my sometimes funny, sometimes scary darker side made me ask: How did I get here? What masks do I wear and still hide behind? Why is it a growl and not more?
